mia

Mia is a super sweet, retired breeding dog from an awful puppy mill. Despite being used and neglected for her entire life, she is so sweet and resilient. True to her Golden Retriever nature, Mia loves being around people and other dogs. She happily greets everyone with a wagging tail and a big smile. Her ability to love after everything she has been through is a true testament to the incredible capacity dogs have in their hearts.

Mia is approximately 4 years old. She does well with everyone she meets and loves to be around other dogs. We are working with Mia to get her more comfortable on the leash. Since she has never been on a leash before coming to us, she is still learning about it but is making improvement every day.

elsa

Elsa is a sweet young Poodle mix who was saved from horrific conditions at a puppy mill. Since arriving at the Paws of War, Elsa has been so scared of people. This sweet girl has most likely never experienced human kindness before coming to us. Thankfully, she is beginning to open up and realize that not all people are bad. She’s starting to get excited when she sees our kennel staff and volunteers. It is a beautiful thing to see little Elsa learn that the rest of the world is not so scary and every day we are seeing her tail wag more and more. There is no doubt that with some love and patience, she would be an excellent furry family member.

Elsa is estimated to be between 1 and 3 years old. She thrives around other dogs, especially her sister, Anna, and would do best in a home with another dog to help build her confidence. Since Elsa is fearful of new people, it would be best if she goes to a home with older children and people that understand they may need to take it slow with her at first. In a loving environment, she is going to be a wonderful companion.

anna

Anna is a sweet young Poodle mix who was saved from horrific conditions at a puppy mill. When Anna arrived at Paws of War, she was shut down, nervous, and scared. It is hard to imagine what she has endured in her few short years on this earth to be so scared. Despite her past, Anna is coming out of her shell quite quickly. She is starting to wag her tail and give little kisses. Now that she knows people can be kind, she is even happily coming to the kennel door to greet our kennel staff and volunteers with her wiggly butt and happy smile.

Our vet estimates that Anna is between 1 and 3 years old. She loves other dogs, especially her sister, Elsa. Anna is still a little nervous around new people but warms up quickly once she realizes they are safe. She has not lived with cats but does bark and act curiously when she sees them. Anna would make a great addition for any home.

bella

Bella is a very sweet, retired breeding dog. She came to Paws of War from a horrific puppy mill situation and has been used her entire life and neglected. Bella is incredibly sweet and comes to life around other dogs. She is a little more nervous with new people but comes around quickly once she realizes they are safe. Despite her past, Bella is proof that love, and kindness can heal many wounds.

Bella is approximately 4 years old. She does very well with other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog to help build her confidence. Bella is also very sweet with people and offers up kisses and tail wags for gentle pets on her chin. Bella would do best in a home with older children and people that understand she needs them to take a slower approach, so she isn’t scared. Her foster tells us that she is thriving in a home environment and makes a great companion with some additional love and patience.

caesar

Caesar is ready to explore with you! Currently in foster, this fun, energetic and loving soul will bring so much joy.

Caesar is a neutered Brittany Spaniel Mix around a year old. He's great with other dogs and kids, and will make a wonderful addition to an active family. Always ready to play at a moment's notice - with stuffies or humans, and he'll keep you entertained for hours!

Caesar is working on his basic training and housebreaking (because no one ever taught him how) and he's so eager to learn. He will thrive in a loving home where he gets the time and attention he deserves.

ari

Ari is a lovely big 1 year-old Albanian Shepherd Mix who is great with kids and other dogs. He is house trained and sleeps peacefully through the night, and he walks well on a leash - he’d make a perfect walking buddy!

Ari was rescued from suffering and danger overseas and brought to safety through our War-Torn Pups and Cats program when a U.S. soldier reached out for help to give him a chance of a loving home in America. This sweet boy found a great family but sadly one of his adopters suffered severe allergies they were not aware of, and they were devastated to have to return Ari to us.

He thrives being around people, so his ideal home will be with someone who is around much of the day and can give him regular exercise, and attention.

Applications are open to Veterans, First Responders, Gold Star Families, and anyone with a family member who has served in the military.

oreo

Oreo is a sweet 2-year-old Collie mix with a heart full of love. She may need a gentle introduction to new people, but once she feels comfortable, she craves affection and loves to be around her humans. Oreo is highly motivated by food and toys and has a playful side—she enjoys games like fetch. She would thrive in a home where someone can dedicate time to her and where older children can be part of the family dynamic.

Oreo was rescued from dangerous conditions in the Middle East through our War Torn Pups and Cats program, and she made the journey to America as part of a mission that saved her life. Unfortunately, after a series of tragic events, Oreo’s owner had to surrender her to Paws of War. We’re now helping her find a loving forever home. Oreo is open for foster or adoption applications to everyone.
